As a result of reading my mother's autobiography, I came across your site of Kansas one-room school houses. From my mother's writing, I note that she taught for one year, 1930, at the one-room school house of Sleepy Hollow, located near Syracuse, Kansas. She had two students. Her name was Zelma Townsend.
